On Nov. 3, the Community Foundation of Acadiana honored Pat Morrow, founder of Morrow, Morrow, Ryan & Bassett law firm, and his wife, Alice Morrow, with the 2015 Leaders in Philanthropy Award at its fifth-annual Leaders in Philanthropy Awards Luncheon for their philanthropic contributions in St. Landry parish. The Morrows are contributors to many private and public schools, as well as many charitable events in the parish.
Under Pat’s leadership, our law firm Morrow, Morrow, Ryan & Bassett, provides annual scholarships for area students and encourages the awardees to seek jobs within St. Landry and Evangeline Parishes. The Morrow family also established the J. Michael Morrow Memorial Scholarship at the LSU Law Center, and was instrumental in the establishment of the L’Ecreivisse Scholarship at the LSU Law Center. Pat is a board member of Vision St. Landry and Hospital Service District No. 2, in addition to his role on the Board of Trustees at Opelousas General Health System.
Alice, a former special education teacher with the St. Landry Parish Public School System, served the New Life Women’s and Children’s Center in Opelousas as a board member and volunteer tutor. She now writes Geaux Ask Alice, a food blog that focuses on the importance of family meals and maintaining family traditions.
The Morrows are two of 14 individuals who were recognized for making a positive impact in their communities through philanthropy.
